Ashley Ann is a multi-instrumentalist, vocalist, dancer, teacher, and above all- a force to be reckoned with.
Learning how to read music at just the age of 18, Ashley has always accomplished anything she put her mind to.
Now 24, Ashley is teaching General Music and private lessons, orchestrating student performance alongside her own.
Through teaching, Ashley’s craft has been drastically improving. This is demonstrated through her lengthy Spotify discography (featured with synergy.synchronized) and solo performances. In six years, Ashley has taught herself various instruments, technical production through Logic Pro x, the art of teaching (with only a Musical Theatre BFA), and solo performance flow. She has performed for public bar/restaurants as nightly featured music, private networking events as background entertainment, and birthdays/graduations as customized gifts to the guest of honor. Ashley is always evolving her craft to include new modalities, such as “live loops”, percussion interludes, and genre exploration.
As a multi-talented artist, Ashley doesn’t limit herself to one genre. Her discography includes acoustic folk, spoken word, electronic dance music (edm), synthwave, sultry-pop, hiphop, and ambient electronic.
When she first started, Ashley’s goal was to make a song that satisfied the need to create. This can be heard through explorative sounds in her first track, “Conversations with Myself”, where she first delved into spoken word/rhythmic poetry. However, she quickly realized she wanted something to perform with, resulting in “The Garden of She”. This track is a softer acoustic sound, featuring ukulele strumming and a ‘one-take’ nature. The trend of acoustic and spoken word continued through “Love Me Gently”, “Love Me, Love You”, and “5 Things”, where Ashley added acoustic guitar and other synth qualities. Her electronic dance sound began with “Love and Let Go”, evolving in “Forward”, and eventually leading to the edm focused duo, “synergy.synchornized”. In this duo, Ashley is featured as a songwriter, vocalist, and co-producer, creating “MOMENT” and “CONTROL”. Shortly after the duo’s start, Ashley began exploring with rhythmic breathing/improvised vocalizing, which can be heard in “LOOPING” and “RAGE”. This exploration led to her ultimate sound, which is perfectly encompassed in “Butterfly Effect”. This track takes an especially important note of the way children are currently being raised in the world, and how this will impact generations to come. Ashley continues to write and produce in her at-home studio with three key factors in mind:
1) How will this effect society, and our impact on the environment around us?
2) Is this something we need?
3) Is this true to myself?
